Recreation Childcare Assistant Job Description

The Broadview Park District is looking for Summer Camp Counselors and support staff. Come join the Broadview Park District, “The Fun Place To Be”.

Responsibilities

• Help design and follow a full schedule of activities for children ranging in age from 5-13 years old
• Encourage recreation and learning based play
• Provide basic care and caregiving activities
• Observe children’s interactions and promote positive socializing
• Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action
• Collaborate with other colleagues

Skills

• Proven experience as a childcare / recreation assistant
• Excellent knowledge of child development
• Energetic and creative
• Patience, flexibility and love for children
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Certificate in first aid and CPR or willingness to receive training
• Must be 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license
• Requires ability to often work outdoors
• Requires going on weekly field trips with the children

• Morning or Afternoon shift (7:00a – 6:00p)
• Monday to Friday, Some weekends
